We wanted to start this series by remembering the artists who survive in the memory and nostalgia of many of us: Benejam, Castanys, Coll, Escobar, Ibáñez, Méndez Álvarez, Muntañola, Nit, Opisso, Tínez, Urda… Fantasy, the imagination and the ability they showed helped us to value the world of Art and Culture. Modern comics are a consequence of these creators, and their immediate predecessors, especially those of Patufet, some of whom also collaborated in the TBO. It appeared in 1917, and was interrupted in 1939. In 1941 it resumed with limitations the first years, since it was not allowed to publish like TBO, but it was tolerated to publish like pleasant Album of Editions TBO, or humoristic Album of Editions TBO to put only two examples. The weekly was published until 1998, after going through different owners (Bruguera, Ediciones B). But what we present is basically the work of the first periods that correspond to the creative fullness of his "illustrious illustrators."
